Welcome

The Old Verulamian Association (OVA) had its origins Forty-Five years ago at a dinner to mark the retirement of the first School Secretary – Miss Florence Eagle.  Afterwards a small group of Old Boys, led by David Lucas, held a meeting and decided to start an Old Boys’ Association. The Association produces newsletters with accounts of School Activities, Present pupils, Letters to the Editor, Articles of general interest & News of Old Boys. These are mailed to members. The OVA also promotes an annual reunion dinner. This is a very popular event, with about 100 normally attending. Recent speakers include Lord Parkinson and Lord MacNally.

There is an informal gathering at lunch-time on the last Tuesday of each month at the ‘John Bunyan’, Coleman Green. You are most welcome to call in.

Membership is open to past pupils; present & past members of staff of St. Albans Modern School; St Albans County Grammar School; Verulam School.

You may be interested to visit the school's website which is separate, as is the website of the OV Rugby Club.

Subscribing members may wish to visit our other O.V.A website which has numerous interesting photographs and articles from 1937 onward, arranged by year.

The site was last updated December, 2006.
